Young Indo-Canadian Athlete, DJ Gunned Down In Surrey

A young Indo-Canadian athlete, DJ was gunned down in a gangland style killing in Surrey on Monday that has lit up social media with videos of police trying to save the young man, who has been identified as Jaskaran Minhas. On March 3 at approximately 5:25 pm, Surrey Police Service (SPS) Frontline officers responded to calls of a shooting near the 7900 block 120 Street, Surrey. SPS officers attended the area and located the driver of a vehicle suffering life-threatening injuries. Despite life saving measures, one man (Minhas) succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

SURREY – A young Indo-Canadian athlete, DJ was gunned down in a gangland style killing in Surrey on Monday that has lit up social media with videos of police trying to save the young man, who has been identified as Jaskaran Minhas.
On March 3 at approximately 5:25 pm, Surrey Police Service (SPS) Frontline officers responded to calls of a shooting near the 7900 block 120 Street, Surrey.
SPS officers attended the area and located the driver of a vehicle suffering life-threatening injuries. Despite life saving measures, one man (Minhas) succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
At approximately 5:35 pm, Delta Police Department officers responded to calls of a vehicle fire in the area of 64 Avenue and Westview Drive, Delta. Police are investigating whether this vehicle is connected to the shooting.
Videos shared on social media show the same red sports-car speeding through the streets after executing the deadly hit on Minhas.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now conducted this investigation. This is Surrey’s first homicide of 2025.
The investigation is in the early stages and IHIT is working in partnership with Surrey Police Service, RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit, and Delta Police Department officers to complete priority tasks.
