October 8, 1938 – March 4, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Kamla Rani Sharma, the matriarch of our extended family – a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone.

Born in Punjab, India in the village Chokran, District Jalamdher, she came to Vancouver in the 1960s to join her husband, Ram Lubiya Sharma, who settled in Canada as a teenager in the 1950s. They had 5 children, the eldest born in India, and the other children born in Vancouver.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Sharma endured unimaginable hardships – she lost her husband and 4 children at young ages due to various tragic circumstances. Despite her deep pain, she embraced life with unwavering courage, kindness, and compassion – offering love to all, even to strangers. She also remained independent and active until her last days.

Her greatest joy and deepest devotion were for her surviving son, Rameshwar, his wife Sandy, and her two beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Max, who brought her immense pride and comfort.

Kamla Sharma’s departure leaves a profound void that will be felt by all who knew her. Her memory and legacy of love, strength, and grace will forever remain in our hearts.

Today, we are lost without her.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 9am at Riverside Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Road, Delta, BC. The prayer will follow at 5pm at the Hindu Temple in Burnaby at 5420 Marine Drive. The family contact is Rameshwar Sharma: 604 220 8858.
