Thief Cuts A Hole In The Ceiling Of A Surrey Grocery Store To Rob The ATM

Surrey RCMP is investigating a break and enter into a grocery store where a thief climbed to the roof and cut a hole in the ceiling before climbing down on a large ladder to steal a substantial amount of cash from an ATM machine. On February 2, Surrey RCMP received a report that a grocery store in the 15900-block of Fraser Highway was broken into while closed overnight between 1:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Police attended and determined that the suspect entered the store from the rooftop where they cut a hole through the ceiling and used a 40ft extendable ladder to climb down into the store. Once inside the store the suspect targeted the ATM machine and was able to steal a substantial amount of cash.

SURREY - Surrey RCMP is investigating a break and enter into a grocery store where a thief climbed to the roof and cut a hole in the ceiling before climbing down on a large ladder to steal a substantial amount of cash from an ATM machine.
On February 2, Surrey RCMP received a report that a grocery store in the 15900-block of Fraser Highway was broken into while closed overnight between 1:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Police attended and determined that the suspect entered the store from the rooftop where they cut a hole through the ceiling and used a 40ft extendable ladder to climb down into the store. Once inside the store the suspect targeted the ATM machine and was able to steal a substantial amount of cash.
Surrey RCMP Frontline is investigating the file with support from the Property Crime Target Team. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.
Surveillance video from inside the store is being released to the public to further advance the investigation, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Vanessa Munn Although the suspect’s face is not visible in the video, investigators feel that someone may recognize the person based on other characteristics.
At the time of the break and enter the suspect was wearing grey coveralls, with a black hoodie underneath pulled up over their head, a black backpack and black boots.
