The suspect is described as a South Asian male, in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’8″, with dark facial hair, wearing a red t-shirt, black shorts, black Jordan slippers, and black socks. Police were advised that a woman was walking through the park when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male suspect.  The woman was able to break free from the suspect, who ran from the area. Police conducted patrols in the area, with assistance from the Integrated Police Dog Services, however the suspect was not located.

SURREY – Surrey RCMP is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect described as a South Asian man in an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault that occurred at a Surrey park.

 

 

On July 9th, 2019 at approximately 12:00 pm, Surrey RCMP responded after receiving a report of a sexual assault in Newton Athletic Park in the 7300 block of 128 Street.

Police were advised that a woman was walking through the park when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male suspect.  The woman was able to break free from the suspect, who ran from the area. Police conducted patrols in the area, with assistance from the Integrated Police Dog Services, however the suspect was not located.

 
 

 

Investigators are seeking public assistance to identify the suspect, and are providing two composite sketches. These sketches are of the same suspect based on two separate witness statements.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male, in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’8″, with dark facial hair, wearing a red t-shirt, black shorts, black Jordan slippers, and black socks.
