Shadaa has become the highest grossing Indian film in Canada for 2019 with grosses of around $1.4 million after 31 days of release. The film has beaten all the Hindi releases of 2019 by a decent margin as the second best film is Gully Boy at $1.15 million. Shaada is also the highest Punjabi grosser ever in Canada beating the $1.35 million of Angrez released in 2015.

SURREY – Shadda is still packing houses wherever it is playing in Canada and the Punjabi-Bollywood and music superstar Diljit Dosanjh starring film has become the top grossing movie in Canada, even beating all Bollywood top grossing films by a large margin.

Shaada is also the highest Punjabi grosser ever in Canada beating the $1.35 million of Angrez released in 2015.

The film also features in the all time list of highest grossing Indian (Bollywood) films in Canada as it will finish at number eight or nine. There have been three films which have gone over $2 million in Canada and they are Padmaavat, Dangal and PK.

Shadaa has beaten the numbers of films like Sultan, Chennai Express, Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale in Canada.

Canadian film market is the best overseas market for Punjabi films but the release for Hindi films is wider.
