SURREY – Last week was a very bad for Indo-Canadian media colleagues as we lost two big newspaper-media men, who died within days of each other.
Following on the heels of the death of Chandra Bodalia, who died last Wednesday from pneumonia as he battled cancer, the very next day, Punjabi media community lost a Gentleman and nice guy in Balvir Singh Cheema, who was Sales Manager at the Punjab Guardian Newspaper
Cheema was always warm and cordial when you met him at various events around town, many times taking photos and accompanying the newspaper's editor Harkirat Kular. Cheema will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him and all his media colleagues are bereaved at the news that the great soul has left us
Cheema died suddenly last Thursday after he suffered what is believed to be a brain haemorrhage. Condolences to his family and all friends and may his soul find piece in the after-life.
Cheema will be cremated this Sunday, June 4 at 11 am at the Five Rivers Funeral Home. Final rights and prayers will be held at New Westminster's Sukh Sagar Gurdwara.
