Police Investigate Gunfire From A Black Sedan As It Chased A Silver SUV In Surrey-Newton Area

Police in Surrey is investigating shots fired from a moving car during a chase in the Surrey-Newton area. At approximately 7:35 pm on Sunday, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 6800 block of 151 street. At this time there are no apparent injuries. The initial investigation has revealed that one vehicle, described as a silver SUV, was chasing another, described as a newer model black sedan. It is currently suspected that shots originated from the occupants of the black sedan.

SURREY – Police in Surrey is investigating shots fired from a moving car during a chase in the Surrey-Newton area.
At approximately 7:35 pm on Sunday, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 6800 block of 151 street. At this time there are no apparent injuries.
The initial investigation has revealed that one vehicle, described as a silver SUV, was chasing another, described as a newer model black sedan. It is currently suspected that shots originated from the occupants of the black sedan.
Shortly after the initial shots call, Surrey RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle fire in the 17100 block of 83rd avenue. The vehicle was determined to be a silver SUV and is believed to be associated to the shots fired call.
Officers are conducting neighborhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages.
Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage around the area of 68 avenue between 152 and 151 streets, between the hours of 2030 and 2040 hours, is asked to the contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, and asked to quote file number 2022-126823
