Husband Charged In The Killing Of Surrey Woman Harpreet Kaur Gill

Police have charged the husband in relation to a stabbing of a Surrey woman Harpreet Kaur Gill that led to her death on December 7. On December 15, the suspect, now identified as 40-year old Navinder Gill of Surrey, the husband of the victim, was once again arrested by IHIT investigators with the support of the Surrey RCMP. On December 16, a charge of second degree murder was laid against Navinder Gill.

SURREY – Police have charged the husband in relation to a stabbing of a Surrey woman that led to her death on December 7.
On December 7 at 9:22 p.m. the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the 12700-block of 66 Avenue, Surrey. Officers attended and found a 40-year old woman, later identified as Harpreet Kaur Gill, in medical distress, resulting from multiple stab wounds.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, Mrs. Gill succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a local hospital. A 40-year old man, known to the victim, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and worked closely with the Surrey RCMP.
The suspect was later released from custody on December 8, 2022, as investigators continued to collect evidence and speak with witnesses.
On December 15, the suspect, now identified as 40-year old Navinder Gill of Surrey, the husband of the victim, was once again arrested by IHIT investigators with the support of the Surrey RCMP. On December 16, a charge of second degree murder was laid against Navinder Gill.
Police said as this investigation is now before the courts, no further comments will be made at this time.
