MUMBAI - Punjabi film and music superstar Diljit Dosanjh turns producer with his upcoming rom-com “Honsla Rakh”, which features Sonam Bajwa and former “Bigg Boss” contestant Shehnaaz Gill as co-stars.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the Punjabi romantic-comedy will release on October 15 on Dussehra holiday.

“Honsla Rakh” is backed by the 37-year-old actor’s company Story Time Productions. Local builder Daljit Thind of Thind Properties is also one of the producers.

Dosanjh took to Instagram to share the film’s animated poster, featuring him carrying a baby on his back.

The film, about to begin shooting in Vancouver, also stars actor Shinda Grewal, son of leading Punjabi actor Gippy Grewal. It's interesting that Shinda Grewal was finally chosen for the young Sardar boy role after the production did much advertising on social media for it as the kid's father Gippy and Diljit have not been the best of friends or even on talking terms after teaming up early in their careers in Jinne Mera Dil Luttya rom-com.

 “Honsla Rakh” is co-produced by Thind Motion Films along with Story Time Productions.

Dosanjh was last seen in the 2020 comedy “Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari”, co-starring Manoj Bajpayee and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

It was one of the first Hindi films to release in theatres post the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown.
