SURREY – An Indo-Canadian BC Liberal candidate facing fraud allegations over a flip-flap land deal had his campaign office windows smashed over night Friday.
Surrey RCMP is currently investigating the damage to Baldev “Dave” Hans’s political campaign office in the Guildford area of Surrey.
According to police, the investigation began at 10:15 a.m. on October 17 after Surrey RCMP received a report of a broken window at 107-15380 102A Avenue in Surrey. The damage was discovered Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. and It is believed it was caused over-night.
Surrey RCMP frontline officers are currently canvassing the area, gathering statements and collecting any available video.

Hans was in the news this week as being is one of two defendants in a B.C. Supreme Court lawsuit filed January 2019 by Aditya Sood, who runs Aditya’s Dance School, and a numbered company over a $12.75 million deal to buy seven lots from Apolla Development on Ravine Road near King George Highway and 132 Street. The unproven allegations state that Hans committed fraud, extortion and forgery in a botched 2017 real estate deal.
But Hans, who is an engineer appointed to Surrey’s board of variance and is currently running against NDP incumbent Garry Begg in the Oct. 24 election, denies all the allegations which he said were filed after his own suit against Sood. Hans said he disclosed the lawsuit to party headquarters before his candidacy was green-lit.
“I’m a law-abiding citizen and I believe in the Canadian court system, Canadian law, I don’t think anybody can cheat with me,” Hans told theBreaker.news. “I sued [Aditya Sood] because he was trying to cheat with me.”
Hans filed his lawsuit against Sood in December 2018 in New Westminster Supreme Court, alleging Sood violated a joint venture, assigned the land contract to a third party and kept the profit. A Supreme Court master agreed to remove the CPL and ordered $800,000 from the sale to be held in trust.
