Longshore workers from local ILWU 502, located in Surrey, held an annual Sahej Patth followed by Langar last weekend at the New Westminster Sukh Sagar Gurdwara.  The prayer for all Longshore workers is an annual event to which everyone was invited.  The union has been involved with many charitable initiatives over the years.  Everything from the Surrey Food Bank to the BC Children’s Hospital for which they have donated over $415,000.  This year the workers also sent over $8,000 to the farmers protesting in India.  Local 502 serves Fraser Surrey Docks, Deltaport, Westshore Terminals and several car terminals.
