Young Indo-Canadian Woman Arrested For Murdering Family Member In Delta

A young Indo-Canadian woman has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of a family member in Delta. In response to the tragic events unfolding on December 18th at 5:10 pm, the Delta Police Department (DPD) said they responded to a Ladner residence following the discovery of a deceased woman. Subsequent investigation conclusively determined that the woman's death was the result of homicide. Shortly thereafter, the DPD arrested a suspect, 28-year-old Preety Teena Kaur Panesar, who has been formally charged with 1st-degree murder in connection to the death.

DELTA – A young Indo-Canadian woman has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of a family member in Delta.
In response to the tragic events unfolding on December 18th at 5:10 pm, the Delta Police Department (DPD) said they responded to a Ladner residence following the discovery of a deceased woman. Subsequent investigation conclusively determined that the woman's death was the result of homicide.
Shortly thereafter, the DPD arrested a suspect, 28-year-old Preety Teena Kaur Panesar, who has been formally charged with 1st-degree murder in connection to the death.
Delta police said a familial relationship exists between Panesar and the deceased woman. Presently, Panesar is in custody.
Police said in consideration of the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings, no further details will be disclosed at this time.
The Delta Police Department said they extend sincere condolences to the Panesar family during this challenging period.
