Veteran MP Sukh Dhaliwal vows to continue being a strong Voice for Surrey-Newton as he fights another hard battle to keep his seat. “Surrey-Newton is a diverse and growing community, as the MP for this area over the years, I have continuously stood side-by-side with the community and voiced their needs in Ottawa” said Sukh Dhaliwal. “This community and it’s priorities are important to me, in my time as the Member of Parliament for Newton, I have worked to be an open and accessible representative, that is focused on delivering results that make families and our community stronger”.

SURREY – There is no question that incumbent Sukh Dhaliwal is the hardest working MP in Surrey or any other riding and even his detractors will agree that he’s at more functions supporting his riding members and writes more letters to assist his constituents than any MP in Canada

Voter intention and riding analysis shows that the veteran MP is unbeatable but in hard fought elections, anything is possible so he’s leaving nothing to chance.

Dhaliwal said he wants to continue being a strong Voice for Surrey-Newton as he fights another hard battle to keep his seat.

He said when his nomination for re-election in Surrey Newton was approved by the party earlier this year – he vowed to continue his strong advocacy for the priorities of families in Newton.

“Surrey-Newton is a diverse and growing community, as the MP for this area over the years, I have continuously stood side-by-side with the community and voiced their needs in Ottawa” said Sukh Dhaliwal.

Over the last three years, Surrey-Newton has seen record investments, including over $7 million for Kwantlen University, $4.6 million for more affordable housing, and over $500,000 for upgrades to the Newton Wave Pool. With an economy that is leading G7 countries in growth, the Liberal Government is making investments in programs to support middle-class families, like the Canada Child Benefit that is helping over 13,000 families in Newton with an average monthly support of $640, as well as new tax exemptions to make small businesses continue to grow and create jobs

Dhaliwal added “the election is crucial to making sure we continue to build on this progress and not go back to a government that left middle-class families behind. It’s going to take hard work, but I know we can make sure Newton continues to have the strong representation it deserves, just as we did in 2015”.

“This community and it’s priorities are important to me, in my time as the Member of Parliament for Newton, I have worked to be an open and accessible representative, that is focused on delivering results that make families and our community stronger”.
