Two Indo-Canadian South Asian Men Charged Following Incident In Surrey City Centre

Two Indo-Canadian men have been arrested and charged with a number of criminal offences following an incident in a City Centre apartment on Monday. Sameer Sameer and Supreet Singh, both 23-year-olds from Surrey, are facing numerous assault and other charges. Shortly before 11 pm on January 20, Surrey Police Service Frontline officers responded to a call from a resident in an apartment in the 13400 block Central Avenue, Surrey that two men in an apartment were allegedly acting violently and had a gun.

SURREY – Two Indo-Canadian men have been arrested and charged with a number of criminal offences following an incident in a City Centre apartment on Monday.
Sameer Sameer and Supreet Singh, both 23-year-olds from Surrey, are facing numerous assault and other charges.
Shortly before 11 pm on January 20, Surrey Police Service Frontline officers responded to a call from a resident in an apartment in the 13400 block Central Avenue, Surrey that two men in an apartment were allegedly acting violently and had a gun.
SPS officer arrived and two men were taken into custody without incident. With the assistance of SPS’s Frontline Investigation Support Team and Serious Crime Unit detectives, a search warrant was obtained and executed. Seized in the search was a black BB gun.
The investigation resulted in the two men being charged with several criminal offences by the BC Prosecution Service.
Sameer Sameer has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of unlawful confinement.
Supreet Singh has been charged with one count of assault, one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of unlawful confinement.
Both men were remanded in custody and have their first court appearance on the morning of January 22.
