Two Indo-Canadian men have pleaded guilty in a crash on January 27 that killed one person in Surrey. Gaganpreet Singh and Jagdeep Singh have pleaded guilty to several offences following a fatal motor vehicle collision in January 2024 and subsequent investigation by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit Criminal Collision Investigation Team.

SURREY – Two Indo-Canadian men have pleaded guilty in a crash on January 27 that killed one person in Surrey.

Gaganpreet Singh and Jagdeep Singh have pleaded guilty to several offences following a fatal motor vehicle collision in January 2024 and subsequent investigation by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit Criminal Collision Investigation Team.

On January 27, 2024, at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian hit and run on University Drive near 104 Avenue. Officers located the suspect vehicle, as well as the pedestrian, several blocks away. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.

After a thorough investigation led by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT), two of the men who were arrested on January 27, 2024, have now pleaded guilty.

On January 6, 2025, Gaganpreet Singh pleaded guilty to the following offences:

*Dangerous operation of a conveyance;

*Fail to stop after accident with a person;

*Interference with a dead body.

On February 7, 2025, Jagdeep Singh pleaded guilty to the following offences:

*Dangerous operation of a conveyance;

*Fail to stop after accident with person;

*Interference with a dead body.

Both accused are out of custody and are awaiting their sentencing hearing scheduled for May 2025.
