Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is back for the summer under the moonlit skies of Stanley Park to entertain and magically transform the viewer to wondrous worlds of classics Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde.

We attended the recent night performance of Charlie (7:30 pm start time with 8 pm curtain call) and it was an absolute treat with a great ensemble of talented young and old performers bringing the musical to full bloom.

Telling a tale of a young poverty stricken boy who dreams of his favorite chocolate delights and the magical world that the Chocolate factory represents and would like nothing but to win a magical ticket to tour the enchanting factory, a privilege reserved for very few young largely spoiled and wealthy children.

It looks impossible as he can barely purchase the candy bar let alone an exclusive entry but alas it’s his destiny and gets his desired wish. The dreams of his childhood realized but such places rarely are what they seem and this is the harsh-reality message the journey to the Chocolate Factory represents.

The themes of growing up and coming to terms with your dreams-reality are always timely for youngsters and the talented cast and crew deliver an entertaining and magical musical journey for all ages.

TUTS plays run through most of the summer holidays so don’t miss out on the plays and a great family outing.
