Meanwhile, Donald Trump, the Republican candidate spent a meagre $248.6 million with the party and joint fundraising committees raising an additional $486.7 million.

WASHINGTON –  The world is still coming to grips with the sensational victory of Donald J. Trump over Hillary Clinton in a closely fought election to become the 45th president of the United States.

Other minor expenses for the Trump camp from October 1st to 19th include— $19.3 million on media, $14.2 million on online advertising and $3.5 million on air travel. In spite of all the spending, Trump’s campaign has lagged behind the money spent by Hillary and the Democrats.

Riding on a wave of popular resentment against Hillary Clinton, Trump proved all predictions wrong to emerge victorious. It has been a major blow for the Democrats, who are still trying to recover from the shocking defeat.
