Suspect In Hit-And-Run Causing Death Identified But Not Arrested Yet

The suspect involved in a hit and run in Surrey has been identified, according to police but has not been arrested or charged. On December 16, police attended the 13300 block of Old Yale Road to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. Tragically, the pedestrian, a 60-year-old female, did not survive her injuries.

SURREY – The suspect involved in a hit and run in Surrey has been identified, according to police but has not been arrested or charged.
Surrey RCMP said Wednesday that a suspect has been identified in relation to a hit and run investigation that claimed the life of a pedestrian.
On December 16, police attended the 13300 block of Old Yale Road to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.
Tragically, the pedestrian, a 60-year-old female, did not survive her injuries.
On December 19, a suspect was identified in regards to this investigation. The suspect vehicle has been seized by Surrey RCMP for further investigation.
Charges have not yet been laid, and the investigation remains ongoing.
“Thank you to the media, the public and our policing partners for your assistance in this investigation,” Surrey RCMP said in a press release.
An earlier press release said Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle, in the 13300-block of Old Yale Road on December 16. The suspect vehicle, a Mint Green Dodge Caravan, was westbound on Old Yale Road when it struck the pedestrian. The vehicle was last seen fleeing westbound on Old Yale Road from the 133rd street intersection.
