Both victims were at the business when the suspect began to physically assault one of them, a staff member at the business. When the other victim, a Good Samaritan bystander who intervened, was assaulted with a weapon, believed to be a knife.

The victim who was physically assaulted was treated on scene by BCEHS and the other victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. That victim has undergone surgery and is recovering in hospital.
