Police said the initial indications are that this shooting is between parties known to one another with no continued risk to the public. This incident does not appear to be related to the Lower Mainland Gang conflict; however, police are investigating possible links to the drug trade. Residents in the area were alarmed by the rush of police cars in their dead-end street as the street is usually quiet with most residents already asleep. “We were awakened by the constant stream of police cars down our block,” one resident told DESIBUZZCanada, describing nearly dozen cars and ambulances that came storming down the street to a house that sits near the cul-de-sac at the end of the street.

SURREY – There was a gang-rush of Surrey RCMP police cars just after midnight Sunday in a Surrey Fraser Heights neighbourhood following a shooting that occurred inside of a residence in the area.

Shortly before midnight on Sunday, March 28, Surrey RCMP responded to a call from Emergency Health Services reporting a shooting in a residence in the 16300-block of 113B Avenue. Frontline officers arrived and located a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The suspect in this shooting fled the residence prior to police arrival.

“It’s shocking and dismaying to see a shooting on our street as this is a very quiet and safe area but crime is everywhere now,” the woman told DESIBUZZCanada.

According to our source, who didn’t want to give her name, police were going door to door to ask residents for information and any video they may have, specifically of a car racing up and down the street just before midnight.
