“DARKY IN OUR WHITE MAN’S LAND GET THE F*** OUT OF MY COUNTRY,” is the first line of the letter, which goes on to make racist and sexual comments before saying, “LOTS OF YOU DARKIES HAVE TOO LONG IN MY COUNTRY. GET THE F**** OUT, OR TRUMP WILL SEND HIS GOONS TO DEVOUR YOU,” reads the letter sent to a woman named Supriya and her family. Supriya, who didn’t want her last name used, said the letter came as a shock when she received it in the mail this week. The RCMP referred to the document as “threatening.” “I’m more disgusted than I am afraid,” said Supriya.

COQUITLAM – Racists in Coquitlam have terrorized a South Asian couple in Coquitlam including sending them a racist letter with vile and foul language and disturbing sexual comments.

The typed up letter was sent directly to the couple’s home, and is even addressed to one of them. Many comments on Reddit express shock at the letter, which is being described as vulgar, scary, and gross. Many people on Reddit expressed support for the couple, saying they hope the person responsible will be caught

The letter, apparently mailed to the home of this unidentified South Asian Coquitlam couple — is addressed to one of them directly and tells them to go “back to their own country.”

The typed up, one page note in all caps is addressed to S.B. That’s the woman’s initials, according to the couple’s adult child, who shared a picture of the letter on social media site Reddit, reported News 1130.

GET THE F**** OUT, OR TRUMP WILL SEND HIS GOONS TO DEVOUR YOU.”

The couple’s child says the anonymous letter, filled with grammatical errors, had a postal code “from Richmon/YVR.” Due to the fact the letter isn’t directed to South Asians specifically, they wonder if the writer could be someone scouring for addresses of “non-white names.”

The couple has notified the Coquitlam RCMP, which is investigating.

The woman named in the letter Supriya, who didn’t want her last name used, told CTV News the letter came as a shock when she received it in the mail this week. The RCMP referred to the document as “threatening.”

“I’m more disgusted than I am afraid,” said Supriya.

Many comments on the Reddit post are expressing shock at the letter and hope that the person who wrote and sent it will get caught.

“This scares the s*** out of me. No one should ever have to get a letter like that,” wrote one person.

“Wow. I am just shocked this is happening,” wrote another Reddit user.

Supriya adds Coquitlam RCMP haven’t received any other reports of similar incidents but are encouraging anyone with information to contact them at their non-emergency line at 604-945-1550.

“It makes me sad this is happening in our country,” said Supriya. “I find it disturbing they could find my address and the letter uses my initials. That is kind of scary.”

In July, Statistics Canada released data that found the number of reported hate crimes in our country was down 13 percent in 2018 compared to 2017, when there had been a 47 per cent spike compared to the year before. But the Canadian Anti-Hate Network points out some victims are afraid or hesitant to come forward, which could affect the accuracy of those figures.

Mounties say that as this is an ongoing investigation they will not be providing any further information.
