Sikh-Canadian Dr. Kochhar Appointed Canada’s Associate Deputy Minister Of Health

Dr. Harpreet S. Kochhar, who was Assistant Deputy Minister, Operations Sector, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, was elevated to Associate Deputy Minister of Health, in early April.
OTTAWA - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently made an important announcement regarding the change in the senior ranks of the Public Service, promoting a prominent Sikh-Canadian to Associate Deputy Minister of Health.
Dr. Harpreet S. Kochhar, who was Assistant Deputy Minister, Operations Sector, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, was elevated to Associate Deputy Minister of Health, in early April.
In his new role, Dr. Kochhar will support the Government of Canada’s ongoing efforts to fight COVID-19 through a whole-of-government, comprehensive, and coordinated approach.
