SHOOTINGS GALORE: Surrey Ends The Year With Multiple Shootings And Two Arrests

Another turbulent year in Surrey ends with two shootings that saw police take two people in custody after shots were fired in the Guildford area on Friday. At approximately 2:15 p.m. on December 29, 2023, frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 101 Avenue and 156 Street. The preliminary investigation indicates two male suspects fled the area in a blue Range Rover. With assistance from Surrey Traffic Services, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Air 1 and Langley RCMP, two male suspects were arrested in the area of 198 Street and 57 Avenue in Langley in connection to this incident. And later on Friday, there was another shooting in the nearby Fleetwood area with reports of shots fired.

SURREY – Another turbulent year in Surrey ends with two shootings that saw police take two people in custody after shots were fired in the Guildford area on Friday.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on December 29, 2023, frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 101 Avenue and 156 Street. The preliminary investigation indicates two male suspects fled the area in a blue Range Rover.
With assistance from Surrey Traffic Services, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Air 1 and Langley RCMP, two male suspects were arrested in the area of 198 Street and 57 Avenue in Langley in connection to this incident.
Police said at this time, no injuries have been reported. The investigation is still in its early stages, and police are working to determine the possible motive.
Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has conduct of the investigation. Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information.
And later on Friday, there was another shooting in the nearby Fleetwood area with reports of shots fired.
On December 29, 2023 at approximately 9:28 pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 7800 block of 167 Street.
Responding members located evidence to support a shooting having occurred in the area.
No one was injured during the incident.
Officers conducted neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages and Police are working to determine the possible motive for the shooting.
