Shooters Target Newton House But No One Injured As Surrey Police Investigates

Shooters targeted a residence in the South Asian populated Newton area of Surrey early Sunday morning. Surrey Police Service (SPS) and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit (SPOSU) officers are investigating an overnight shooting at a residence in Newton that has resulted in property damage. Shortly after 3 am on January 26, Surrey Police Service received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of 142 Street and 72nd Avenue and sounds of a vehicle speeding away. SPS officers arrived and located evidence that the residence had been shot at. Nobody was injured in the shooting. The suspect vehicle has been described as a light-coloured sedan.

SURREY – Shooters targeted a residence in the South Asian populated Newton area of Surrey early Sunday morning.
Surrey Police Service (SPS) and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit (SPOSU) officers are investigating an overnight shooting at a residence in Newton that has resulted in property damage.
Shortly after 3 am on January 26, Surrey Police Service received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of 142 Street and 72nd Avenue and sounds of a vehicle speeding away.
SPS officers arrived and located evidence that the residence had been shot at. Nobody was injured in the shooting. The suspect vehicle has been described as a light-coloured sedan.
SPOSU General Investigation Unit officers have been called in to lead the investigation. Officers from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) have also been called in to examine the crime scene. One or more directions of 72 Avenue may be shut down temporarily while officers look for and examine any evidence.
