Seva Thrift Hoping To Turn Used Indian Clothing To Good Use
- June 30, 2016
Donate Your Old Clothing, Jewelry And Other Items To Seva Thrift, Which Opens It's Doors Saturday, July 2!
Seva Thrift store is located at 9430 120th street and is set to open on Saturday, July 2nd.
SURREY – SEVA Thrift, the brain-child of founder Jas Gill, Kiran Malli and Raj Arneja, is teaming up with East West Thrift store to open a first of its kind store for charity by offering gently used Indian ethnic wear and many diverse range of high quality items.
Seva Thrift is accepting gently used ethnic wear, clothing, and small functional household items. Our goal is to resell these items and contribute to the Surrey Hospital Foundation in a meaningful way.
Proceeds convert to valuable funds for Surrey Hospital and Outpatient Care Foundation which will support worthwhile medical equipment and services. Seva Thrift provides the venue for sharing while giving back to the community.

Donations welcome and encouraged. To make a donation, drop off items to 9430 120th Street, Surrey during the hours of operations.
We accept the following:
- Stitched or unstitched Indian clothing (3 piece outifits [salwar/kameez/chunni ] outfits, saris, shawls, langas etc.)
- Jewellery, accessories, purses, footwear
- Western clothing (men’s, women’s and children’s)
- Home décor (including seasonal)
- House wares
- Gardening tools
- Small appliances and small furniture
- Toys and sports equipment

"We are a practical group. Our inspiration comes from recognizing many people have an abundance of items and are not sure what to do with them once they are no longer needed or wanted," Gill said. "With that in mind, we have created Seva Thrift, a platform for donating gently used Indian and Western clothing that can be sold to support charitable causes."
"This store is a first of its kind Thrift store that is opening soon for charity," Gill said. "This store will be different than any other because it will be selling donated Indian ethnic wear among the many items regularly sold in thrift stores."
The store is located at 9430 120th street and is set to open on Saturday, July 2nd.
