SAD-Amritsar Overseas Committee Calls On Worldwide Sikhs To Observe ARDAAS Diwas To Rid The World Of COVID-19

Ardaas is part of Sikh daily prayer twice a day, meaning a request, a supplication, a prayer, a petition or an address to a superior authority. The Ardas are an essential part of Sikh faith,” the Organization said in a press release.

TORONTO - The Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar’s International Coordination Committee is calling on the Sikh Community across the World to observe the Ardaas Diwas on Sunday March 29th at 10 am in an effort to rid the world of the deadly COVID-19.
“We need worldwide Sikhs to pray to Akal Purakh to control the deadly outbreak of COVID-19. Ardaas is part of Sikh daily prayer twice a day, means a request, a supplication, a prayer, a petition or an address to a superior authority. The Ardas is an essential part of Sikh faith,” the Organization said in a press release.
Throughout the World the COVID-19 pandemic has caused economic and medical havoc. This virus is responsible for unrest in the World. Human lives are at risk and the death toll is increasing everyday all over the World, said Boota Singh Kharaud, convener of SADA International Coordination Committee.
The Organization said the Ardaas Diwas should be observed by the entire Sikh community worldwide, all family members while remaining in their homes, work or wherever they are safe with keeping social distancing in mind.
We ask everyone to recite Japuji Sahib and Ardaas with your family members across the globe, said Sukhminder Singh Hansra, senior member of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar Int’l Coordination Committee.
The Sikh community will also include in its Ardaas, a message thanking all frontline workers including health workers, police personals, grocery retail workers, truck drivers and workers at all essential services who are putting their lives at risk daily for the sake of humanity.
