Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS) has been serving the people of Richmond area for 40 years. It provides services for newcomers to Canada and other needy people. RMCS also hosts a range of programs and community events. In this process it facilitates and promotes multiculturalism, diversity and inclusiveness. RMCS strives to promote intercultural harmony towards an inclusive community that values diversity and equality. Its settlement and integration programs have been a great success.  Furthermore, it trains volunteers in some of the basic skills that enables them to enter the job market. RMCS also offers a variety of programs for youth, women, seniors and other groups. 

For the past several years, RMCS has been partnering with India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas, 8600 #5 Road, Richmond in sponsoring a program called Chai Chaupal for Indo-Canadian seniors. This program takes place every Monday afternoon at the Gurdwara. It brings together a number of seniors to discuss various issues affecting the Indo-Canadian community and the community at large. At the same time, the participants enjoy tea and refreshments at the Gurdwara. 

At tax time, RMCS provides annual income tax clinics and services to the needy in filing their income tax returns. Its English conversation classes have been helping a lot of newcomers gain confidence in expressing themselves in English. Its clients and volunteers appreciate the contribution RMCS has been making for their betterment. One such client /volunteers remarked:RMCS is not just a community service. It is a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of human connection.

India Cultural centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas is pleased to support organizations like RMCS who have been doing a commendable job in helping people. On Sunday, June 30, Mrs. Kashmir Kaur Johal, Chairperson of the Gurdwara Nanak Niwas Society, in the presence of President Mohan Singh Sandhu, Vice President Ubed Singh Sidhu and Secretary Balwant Singh Sanghera ,presented a cheque to Parm Grewal, Executive Director of RMCS . The Gurdwara Management is pleased to assist RMCS in carrying on its commitment to helping those who need it the most.
