RICHMOND – Richmond RCMP say a robbery on Tuesday at a city residence involved a handgun and described the suspect as Indo-Canadian or dark skinned male.

Shortly after 5 pm on April 26, Richmond RCMP officers responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Williams Road for a report of a robbery with a firearm.

The victim, an 80-year old woman, was in her residence when the suspect entered her home through an unlocked garage door.

The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and demanded her purse and car keys. The suspect then fled in the victim's vehicle. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as:

·         Indo-Canadian or darker skinned male

·         In his late 20s or early 30s

·         Around 6’ (183 cm) in height

·         Slim build

·         Short dark hair with a receding hair line

The victim’s vehicle was recovered near a business complex in the 4200 block of Hazelbridge Way just before 2 am on April 27, 2016.
