Local Sikhs still reeling from the brutal murder of BC Sikh leader and Khalistan advocate Hardeep Singh Nijjar by Indian government agents were out in full force protesting in Surrey at Hindu Mandir on 144 Street near 84 and at Vancouver’s Ross Street Gurdwara, saying Indian Consular officials shouldn’t be using religious places to do the work of government of India. Indian Consulate staff were at Khalsa Diwan Society for Indians who want Life Certificate for pension benefits. But Sikhs object using religious places given India’s current wave of killings of separatist Sikhs.
