SURREY – Surrey RCMP made an extensive seizure of drugs, weapons and explosives on August 22 when the North Community Response Unit (NCRU) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 12200-block of Industrial Road.
NCRU launched an investigation into the property as it had been identified as a problem residence in the spring of 2024 and this search warrant was obtained as a part of this ongoing investigation. The search warrant was executed with the assistance of Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT).
A total of twelve Individuals were arrested but they were not named by police.
The following items of interest were seized:
*500 grams of suspected illicit drugs
*Approximately $10,000 cash;
*Four handguns inside the residence, including a 3D printed gun;
*Various ammunition rounds;
*Prohibited magazines;
*Radio jammers;
*Two stolen vehicles;
*Several stolen license plates;
*Three duffel bags found to contain 16 firearms;
*Approximately 30 pounds of explosives.
On September 10, 2024, North CRU executed a second warrant to search 12200-block of Industrial Road after further grounds of trafficking were observed following the initial search warrant execution on August 22, 2024. IERT executed the warrant given the safety concerns after the firearms and explosives located during the previous search warrant execution. A total of eight individuals were arrested, identified and released from scene.
The following items of interest were seized:
*$3160 cash;
*830 grams of illicit drugs (suspected methamphetamine);
*600 grams of cannabis;
*32 vials of prescription opioids;
*120 various pills;
*1177 rounds of ammunition;
*A silencer;
*Three long guns (one without the stock);
*Two crossbows and several authentic airsoft hand guns were seized.
The investigation remains ongoing to process all seized exhibits and complete a report to Crown Counsel.
Upon execution of the first Search Warrant, the sheer volume of drugs, firearms, and explosives located by police inside this fortified unit over a business visited by the unsuspecting public, may be the most dangerous situation I have seen in my service in Surrey, stated S/Sgt Nigel Pronger the Commander of the North Community Response Unit; Unfortunately in this investigation, crime did not stop with this enforcement, necessitating a second Search Warrant execution at the same location. This wanton disregard for public safety is inexcusable, and I extend my sincere appreciation to both the North CRU investigators and the members of Lower Mainland IERT and Explosive Disposal Unit for their excellent performance of their duties in executing this Search Warrant.
