No disease or war has shaken the world the way the Corona has and we dread,

Its cousin SARS was far less tricky, far less contagious and far less community spread.

It has conflicted our community fabric and the very essence of our community life,

Our need to live closely in homes has resulted in increased  family conflicts and daily rife.

We fear the worse when we innocently run into each other on the roads or in stores,

Our centuries old value to openly socialize with others has become a dinosaur.

Food has become of a less value as we prefer the toilet paper more,

Social distancing has become a norm and having to stay home has become a sacrificing chore.

This virus has forced us to feed our good than bad,

Unfortunately we are giving up the pursuit of happiness and feel  sad.

The virus has jolted the powerful, young and old,

We are fighting for our survival as this disease has taken its hold.

People have begun to establish direct contact with God,

The religious places are becoming dormitories where human bodies rot.

Finally,  a human will prevail and Corona will run,

Tens of thousands will die in vain but hope the new page will turn.

We owe the most to our health care workers who are saving our lives

May they have all the protection and energy to overcome this strife.
