The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal is a commemorative medal created to mark the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth ll’s accession in 1952. This award recognizes the contributions individuals and groups have made in a number of fields, including community service, business, arts and culture, sports, education and volunteerism.

Under his leaderships and guidance PICS Society has expanded their services in many areas and locations, reaching and helping thousands of people.

Hardie applauded Satbir Singh Cheema for his dedication and contributions to his community, “One word describes PICS, and its leader, Progressive. Some people see things as they are and ask why…others…Progressives like PICS, like Satbir Cheema see things as they could be and ask why not?” Satbir’s ability to recognize questions like these has allowed PICS and his contributions to the community to continue to grow and expand.

Satbir Singh Cheema thanked all of those in attendance and reiterated that in reality this is a recognition for the great work done by the staff, volunteers and Board members on a daily basis to make a positive difference in the lives of so many people. “I am truly humbled and grateful to have been nominated for this special recognition.  I am accepting this award on behalf of my PICS family, and I am dedicating it to my mentor, coach, leader and role model - late Mr. Charanpal Gill, the Founder of PICS Society.”
