NO ARRESTS: Surrey Police Keep Appealing While Criminals Keep Shooting Up Kap’s Cafe
- September 6, 2025
Surrey Police Service (SPS) was forced down Surrey residents’ throats by the provincial NDP so it could protect the city better and reduce crime but crime has only risen with dozens of shootings and extortion attempts as SPS keep appealing while Criminals keep shooting up places like Bollywood superstar comedian Kapil Sharma’s recently opened Kap’s Café. Following shots fired at Kap’s Café for the second time, SPS was again appealing to the community for information even though Criminals posted videos of the shooting and so far the police have nothing to show for it at all. Shots were fired at the exterior of Kaps Café on both July 10 and Aug. 7, leaving bullet holes in the windows and walls.

SURREY – Surrey Police Service (SPS) was forced down Surrey residents’ throats by the provincial NDP so it could protect the city better and reduce crime but crime has only risen with dozens of shootings and extortion attempts as SPS keep appealing while Criminals keep shooting up places like Bollywood superstar comedian Kapil Sharma’s recently opened Kap’s Café.
“SPS has been regularly liaising with residents and business owners in the area surrounding Kap’s, as well as in other areas in Surrey that have been impacted this year by incidents,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton explained.
The SPS is also urging community members with information to do the right thing and come forward before someone is hurt.
Police confirmed that employees were inside the building during both shootings.
“People who have information and are withholding it are both enabling potential future incidents and putting us all at risk,” said Houghton.
The shootings come at a time of heightened focus on the South Asian community in Surrey, following an increase in extortion threats against some businesses and people.
At the time of the most recent shooting, Houghton said, “There is no definitive link to extortions at this time; however, investigators are not ruling it out.”
Anyone with information about this incident or who may have been in the area at the time and has dashcam footage is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-66351 (SP) or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
