Police quickly tracked down three men, believed to be newcomers from India, possibly foreign students, involved in a fatal hit and run over the weekend in Surrey which killed a pedestrian. Surrey said the three males involved in the fatal hit and run were arrested shortly after they committed the fatal accident and kept driving even after hitting the pedestrian. The three unnamed suspects were released with conditions pending their next court appearance. The three young males were traveling in a red Ford Mustang, struck a pedestrian near University Drive and 104 Ave Surrey.

SURREY – Police quickly tracked down three men, believed to be newcomers from India, possibly foreign students, involved in a fatal hit and run over the weekend in Surrey which killed a pedestrian.

Surrey said the three males involved in the fatal hit and run were arrested shortly after they committed the fatal accident and kept driving even after hitting the pedestrian. The three unnamed suspects were released with conditions pending their next court appearance.

On January 27, 2024 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a fatal pedestrian hit and run. The three young males were traveling in a red Ford Mustang, struck a pedestrian near University Drive and 104 Ave Surrey.

 Failing to stop at the scene, they continued driving recklessly. The victim was found several blocks away, severely injured, as they continued to drive with the victim allegedly stuck in the tire of the car.

Surrey RCMP located the pedestrian several blocks away suffering from severe injuries. BC Ambulance attended however, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision.  

Investigators are asking any potential witnesses to come forward if they were travelling in these areas this morning between 1:40 a.m. and 1:50 a.m. - northbound on University Drive, westbound on 108 Avenue and northbound on 132 Street. Surrey RCMP said the suspects were released with conditions, awaiting their next court appearance. Police said as this matter is now before the courts, there will be no further details provided at this time.
