LAST LAUGH: Adam Sandler Uses Oscars Snub To Draw Big Laughs At Independent Spirit Awards Victory

Hollywood superstar and comedy king Adam Sandler who was snubbed by the Oscars 2020 for his performance in Uncut Gems gave fans a speech that everyone would have wanted to hear at the Oscars this year.

SANTA MONICA, CA - Hollywood superstar and comedy king Adam Sandler wins Best Male Lead for his role as a jeweler addicted to gambling in Uncut Gems by Josh and Benny Safdie at the 35th Independent Spirit Awards 2020 Saturday night, reported Vulture.com.

The 53-year-old comedian used his character’s voice from the film for most of his speech and shouted out this year's host Aubrey Plaza.

Sandler starts off the speech thanking his wife and kids and proceeds to give a quick shout to the other nominees.

Saying “I’d like to give a shout-out to my fellow nominees who will henceforth be known as the guys who f—ing lost to Adam Sandler,” as he joked during his acceptance speech.

Sandler goes on to say “A few weeks back when I was quote, unquote, snubbed by the academy, it reminded me when I briefly attended high school and was overlooked for the coveted yearbook superlative category best looking,”.

“That accolade was given to a jean jacket wearing feather haired douchebag by the name of Skipper Jenkins but my classmates did honor me with the allegedly less prestigious designation of best personality

“Tonight as I look around this room, I realize the Independent Spirit Awards are the best personality awards of Hollywood,” he said to wild applause at Saturday’s indie gala.

Ends with saying “Let all those feather haired douchebag motherf---ers get their Oscars tomorrow night. Their handsome good looks will fade in time, while our independent personalities will shine on forever.”

Later that night Sandler was seen backstage answering a few questions from members of the media.

Sandler said “Uncut Gems” was a script he couldn’t put down.

Continues to say “I didn’t know it was going to be so stressful until I watched it,” “I knew script-wise it was really interesting and I felt nervous for the guy (Howard his character in Uncut Gems).”
