POSTED BY: DESIBUZZCANADA SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
Jazzy B.’s Induction Ceremony Is One Of The Most Successful Unveilings And Follow Up Dinners We’ve Ever Had, Said Rob Haynes Of BCEHOF!
International Bhangra superstar Jazzy B.'s journey began right here in Surrey, from where he went to the Mecca of music in the UK and under the great mentorship of the Music Man – the great Sukshinder Shinda – Jazzy conquered not only the UK Bhangra music scene but India and the world. And he has thrived in the music scene even though it has gone through great transition with the onslaught of technology and piracy. Well deserving of the Starwalk Star honours and his friend Bobby Nagra and R. Paul Dhillon, who has directed him in music videos as well as in two documentaries, are proud to have nominated him and worked to see the honour through for JazzyB. "History was made and we feel great to be an integral part of this history," Dhillon said. "Long live our mother tongue Punjabi and long live our music and music makers like Jazzy B!"

SURREY – International Bhangra superstar Jazzy B. got his BC Starwalk Star of Fame along Granville Street's entertainment district in downtown Saturday afternoon with a little help from friends like renowned filmmaker and DESIBUZZbc founder R. Paul Dhillon and Bobby Nagra, who nominated him for the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame (BCEHOF), as well lobbied for him to become the first South Asian-Punjabi music star to the honour which so far has only gone to White Canadian entertainment icons and superstars.
Rob Haynes, Chairman of BCEHOF, told R. Paul Dhillon that Jazzy B.’s induction ceremony is one of the most successful unveilings and follow up dinners their organization has have ever had.
“I want to say thank you to you and the community for Starwalk unveiling and the induction ceremony. The energy around the unveiling of the star Saturday (September 17) afternoon and the wonderful tribute dinner will certainly go down in our history books,” said Haynes. “We were truly overwhelmed with how it all came together. Once again THANK YOU (R. Paul Dhillon, Barinder Sall and Bobby Nagra) for your hard work and dedication to this very special induction of Jazzy B into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.”
Jazzy B.'s Star was finally placed at 820 Granville Street with a full showy ceremony beautifully done by Rob Haynes and team from the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame. And it was full on star treatment with all of Jazzy's buddies Bobby Nagra, R. Paul Dhillon, Channy Dhillon, Sabi Kooner and even some special gurests like Jimmy and George coming down from California coming to be part of his special day and always his big bro Chamkila by his side as well as wife Hurdeep Bains and their kids and friends! The Historical occasion was well done and came out beautifully as the rain stopped just enough for Jazzy to get his Star.
The Saturday afternoon event was followed by a grand party with a full night of celebration at Surrey's Crown Palace Banquet Hall, where Jazzy B. was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame. BCEHOF officials, including Board chair Rob Haynes and Vancouver Councilor Elizabeth Ball, officially inducted the international Bhangra superstar into the Hall of Fame by presenting him with a framed certificate and a pin.
The City of Surrey also honoured him with a framed message from Mayor Linda Hepner and her Council and Surrey MP Randeep Singh Sarai brought a message for Jazzy from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
"I truly feel blessed and honoured to be getting this great recognition from my home province where I truly honed my craft and from where I started on my musical journey," said Jazzy B.
"I'm here as an artist because of my mother tongue Punjabi which is the essence of my music. I could have never imagined getting such an award and it is indeed my language and my fans who I'm humbly thankful and forever grateful."
Jazzy's musical journey is now complete, going from a kid who grew up in Surrey and sought to reach the stars in his chosen artistic field of Punjabi Bhangra pop music and doing it all in style and doing it big like this ceremony.
His journey began right here in Surrey, from where he went to the Mecca of music in the UK and under the great mentorship of the Music Man – the great Sukshinder Shinda – Jazzy conquered not only the UK Bhangra music scene but India and the world.

Well deserving of the Starwalk Star honours and his friend Bobby Nagra and R. Paul Dhillon, who has directed him in music videos as well as in two documentaries, are proud to have nominated him and worked to see the honour through for JazzyB.
It was party time Saturday night and Jazzy and all his friends and family truly celebrated by dancing all night.
"History was made and we feel great to be an integral part of this history," Dhillon said. "Long live our mother tongue Punjabi and long live our music and music makers like Jazzy B!"
