An Indo-Canadian woman from Metro Vancouver is S1 Million richer after winning the lottery. Satwant Aujla was in disbelief when she saw the amount on her winning Lotto 6/49 ticket. “I put [the ticket] in my pocket and got out of there when I saw,” she recalls.

RICHMOND – An Indo-Canadian woman from Metro Vancouver is S1 Million richer after winning the lottery.

Satwant Aujla was in disbelief when she saw the amount on her winning Lotto 6/49 ticket. 

“I put [the ticket] in my pocket and got out of there when I saw,” she recalls.

Aujla purchased the ticket at the Chevron gas station on South Fraser Way but was in the Abbotsford FreshCo grocery store when she found out she won $1 million. She took the ticket to two gas stations the next day just to make sure the figure was correct.
Aujla says the win gives her "peace and comfort."

"I always wanted to buy my son a house if I won," she shares. When she shared the news with her son he was reportedly "blown away."
