- March 1, 2018

It is not known how Surgit Singh Bachra was caught or his phone or computer was seized that contained child pornography but there is some chatter on Whatsapp that the images may have been part of the sharing process in whatsapp which may have triggered the charges. But this is just social media chatter and not to be taken as fact as police have released very little information on Bachra's arrest other than that officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) flagged Bachra as he re-entered Canada from the US on Monday.
NIAGRA – A Indo-Canadian man from Surrey BC has been arrested on child pornography charges in Ontario after he crossed the border into Ontario from US.
Forty-eight-year-old Surgit Singh Bachra is charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Importing Child Pornography.
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing, which was expected to take place in St. Catharines on Tuesday afternoon.

The results of an investigation were then passed on to the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
