The body of Gurinderjit Rai was found in a car in a countryside lane in Corhampton, Hampshire by two horse riders in July 2019 after tensions rose between him and Aston Hannis

LONDON - A drug dealer has been convicted of the "assassination" of his Indo-British supplier after gunning him down in a rural layby.

The body of Gurinderjit Rai, 41, was found in a car in a countryside lane in Corhampton, Hampshire by two horse riders in July 2019.

A court heard that tensions had risen between the victim - known as G - and dealer Aston Hannis, 30 after a robbery of his safe house.

Rai was killed by a fatal shot fired from a Mercedes A-class saloon containing Hannis and Charlie Statham, 30, it was said.

Both men were found guilty at Winchester Crown Court yesterday of Mr Rai's murder.
