Iconic Bollywood Superstar Sridevi Kapoor Dies At 54

The BBC reports that the actress died in Dubai, where she was in town for a wedding. Her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi were with her at the time of her death. Family members confirmed the news via the Indian Express website."It is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here (India), I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai," her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor said.
DUBAI – The iconic Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor, who went simply by Sridevi before marrying Boney Kapoor has died of a sudden heart attack while in Dubai, according to media reports.
Sridevi, who was just 54 years-old, appeared in over 150 films and was considered the first female Bollywood superstar.

Family members confirmed the news via the Indian Express website.
"It is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here (India), I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai," her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor said.
Her screen credits date back to 1967, when she appeared on-screen in Kandan Karunai. She would go on to appear in such films as 1989's Chandni, 1986's Nagina, and more recently, English Vinglish, which played at the Toronto Film Festival in 2012.
Fellow Bollywood actress and Hollywood crossover Priyanka Chopra was one of the many fans who took to Twitter to pay their respects.
"I have no words. Condolences to everyone who loved #Sridevi. A dark day," Chopra wrote.
