Funds Raised For Punjab Floods At No. 5 Road Gurdwara
- October 30, 2025

By Balwant Singh Sanghera
The recent floods in Punjab have caused a lot of devastation. A large number of schools, colleges, hospitals and roads have been destroyed or severely damaged. Thousands of people have become homeless. Thousands of acres of fertile soil has been swept away by rivers. More than sixty people have lost their lives. In times like these our brothers and sisters in the Punjab need a lot of help. The NRIs around the globe have opened their hearts and wallets to help them. Here in Canada, the response has been amazing. A large number of individuals, organizations and entities have done a marvelous job in helping our Punjabi brothers ans sisters. The radio-thons held by a number of our community's radio stations have raised millions of dollars in this regard. At India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas, 8600 #5 Road, Richmond, the Gurdwara Management Committee also started a fundraising campaign a few weeks ago. The response has been overwhelming. The Gurdwara Management is very thankful to each donor. Every dollar thus collected will be sent to help the needy in Punjab. Thank you for your generosity!
