Jasmit Singh Phulka, former Miri Piri Wrestling Club wrestler, won a Silver medal on May 5 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, competing at the Senior Pan American Championships.

ABBOTSFORD - Jasmit Singh Phulka, former Miri Piri Wrestling Club wrestler, won a Silver medal on May 5 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, competing at the Senior Pan American Championships. 

Phulka wrestled incredibly and took Silver in the 79kg weight class. He beat Puerto Rico 4-4 on criteria and Mexico 4-2 to reach the finals. In the finals he lost to 6x world champion and 2012 Olympic champion, Jordan Burroughs from the USA. 

This is Phulka's 3rd Senior Pan American Championship medal, winning 2 bronze medals in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
