RICHMOND – Top MMA fighter Arjan Bhullar is finally getting his shot at the big title in May when he will fight current champion Brandon Vera for the belt in his second ONE Championship bout.

The UFC veteran and former Commonwealth wrestling champion  has agreed to challenge Vera for the heavyweight gold at ONE Championship: Code of Honor in Manila, Philippines, on May 29, Bhullar hinted on his social media handles which was subsequently reported by Asian MMA outlets.

Bhullar (10-1) parted ways with the UFC after back-to-back wins over Marcelo Golm and Juan Adams, and scored a decision victory over former Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli in his ONE debut in October.

Vera (16-8, 1 NC), who stopped Cerilli the last time he defended his heavyweight title in 2018, returns to the division after coming up short in his attempt to become a two-division titleholder against Aung La Nsang. “The Truth” was 4-0 with four first-round knockouts in the company prior to his recent setback.
