Driver Comes Forward After Leaving Accident Scene That Killed Pedestrian In North Delta

The driver of the vehicle involved in a fatal accident with a male pedestrian has turned himself/herself in after leaving the accident scene Tuesday. Delta police is investigating. On Tuesday, September 27th, just after 6:30 am, the Delta Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian-involved collision at the intersection of 112th Street and 80th Avenue, an area with high level of South Asian population. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services. However, despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries.

NORTH DELTA – The driver of the vehicle involved in a fatal accident with a male pedestrian has turned himself/herself in after leaving the accident scene Tuesday. Delta police is investigating.
On Tuesday, September 27th, just after 6:30 am, the Delta Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian-involved collision at the intersection of 112th Street and 80th Avenue, an area with high level of South Asian population.
Upon arrival, officers located a 60-year-old male who suffered serious injuries. The vehicle and driver involved in the collision had left the scene before police arrival. However, police said Wednesday the driver has since come forward and is cooperating with investigators.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services. However, despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin notification has been completed with the male’s family.
