Dr. Ambedkar Mahaprinirvan Diwas To Be Observed On December 6

Mahaprinirvan Diwas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be observed on Tuesday, December 6, at 6 PM in the C. K. Choi Building for the Institute of Asian Research, 1855 West Mall, UBC, Vancouver. Dr. Ambedkar left a strong legacy and his contributions to the making of the Indian Constitution and thought processes are many. Dr. Swaran Singh, visiting scholar at the Political Science Department of the University of British Columbia, will shed light on Dr. Ambedkar's contributions and legacy.

VANCOUVER - Mahaprinirvan Diwas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be observed on Tuesday, December 6, at 6 PM in the C. K. Choi Building for the Institute of Asian Research, 1855 West Mall, UBC, Vancouver.
Dr. Ambedkar died in 1956, less than two months after adopting Buddhism among a gathering of over five hundred thousands of his patrons.
Dr. Ambedkar left a strong legacy and his contributions to the making of the Indian Constitution and thought processes are many. Dr. Swaran Singh, visiting scholar at the Political Science Department of the University of British Columbia, will shed light on Dr. Ambedkar's contributions and legacy.
The tribute is being hosted by Chetna Association of Canada and the Center for India and South Asian Research at UBC, in association with the Ambedkarite International Coordination Society (AICS)
Chetna Association of Canada and AICS have also appointed a Steering Committee to plan the Dr. Ambedkar International Symposium on Emancipation (ASE) and observe the Dr. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary as the Equality Day. The steering committee will share updates on the status of the symposium.
Guest of honor for the evening will be Mr. Jiwan Kumar, retired Chief Engineer with PUDA (Punjab Urban Development Authority).
