A group of pro-Indian government and anti-farmers supporters took to the Indian Consulate in downtown Vancouver to sing the praises of the Narendra Modi government, which has brought unjust and dire farm laws leading to ongoing protests all over India by farmers’ groups and their supporters. But according to the local supporters of the India farmers, the large number who have held ongoing protests in Surrey and at the Consulate offices in Vancouver, the pro-Indian government supporters quickly ran away when they arrived at the Vancouver location. “They were chanting pro-Indian government slogans but when we showed up they started chanting Jai Jawan Jai Kissan,” said a man named Nav in a video from the event. “We parked and went to the consulate and they all disappeared. They got scared and ran,” he said. There was some confusion as to whether all of Pro-Indian government brigade was there to support Modi as some members told DESIBZUZCanada photographer Sukhwant Singh Dhillon that they supported the farmers. But according to Dhillon and other sources, the vast majority of the pro-Indian government supporters were anti-farmers or did not support the cause of the Indian farmers.
