BURNABY - Burnaby RCMP’s Gang Enforcement Team has seized a significant quantity of illegal items so far this year as part of ongoing efforts to target organized crime and disrupt gang activity in the community.
Since the beginning of 2025, Burnaby Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) members have seized:
*Over 8 kilograms of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine;
*Over $375,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of crime;
*4 aftermarket hidden compartments installed in vehicles, commonly used to conceal contraband;
*3 firearms, including prohibited and modified weapons.
All of the seizures were made during proactive policing efforts conducted throughout Burnaby. These efforts are part of the detachment’s ongoing focus on gang-related activity and street-level drug trafficking.
“These seizures demonstrate the importance and impact of targeted enforcement strategies aimed at organized crime,” said Superintendent Sunny Parmar, Acting Officer In Charge of Burnaby RCMP. “Every firearm removed from the streets and every kilogram of illegal drugs seized helps make our community safer.”
BGET continues to work in coordination with regional partners to monitor gang activity and disrupt the movement of illegal weapons, drugs, and cash.
Investigations related to these seizures are ongoing, and charges are pending.
Anyone with information about gang activity in the community is encouraged to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
