On Monday, June 8, 54-year-old Sanjiv Kumar was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation. According to police, Kumar sometimes goes by the alias “Sanjiv Dhawan.” They say the allegations involve a 16-year-old girl who attends the school in Brampton.

BRAMPTON – An Indo-Canadian private school principal has been arrested by Peel Regional Police (PRP) for a sexual assault offence in Brampton. 

On Monday, June 8, 54-year-old Sanjiv Kumar was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation. According to police, Kumar sometimes goes by the alias “Sanjiv Dhawan.”

Kumar has been charged with one count each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

They say the allegations involve a 16-year-old girl who attends the school in Brampton.

He was released on an undertaking, and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on August 24, 2020. They're asking anyone with information that could help the investigation to come forward.

Investigators with the Special Victims Unit believe there are more victims and is encouraging them to come forward by calling 905-453-2121, extension 3460.
