RCMP said Wednesday that 26-year-old Krishneel Kamal Kumar, of Edmonton, was found in a field by a farmer Monday, October 30, a day before Halloween.

EDMONTON – A South Asian man found murdered in a country field in Morinville, near Edmonton, has been identified.

RCMP said Wednesday that 26-year-old Krishneel Kamal Kumar, of Edmonton, was found in a field by a farmer Monday, October 30, a day before Halloween.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday, and the Medical Examiner in Edmonton confirmed the manner of Kumar’s death was homicide, reported CTV News Edmonton.

RCMP blocked off a section of roadway Tuesday, October 31, 2017, after a body was found in a farmer's field the day before.

Police are asking anyone with details on the case to call Morinville RCMP, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
