Don't Breathe (Pg)****
By Alan Samuel
Thrills and danger are on tap big time in Don't Breathe. Hindsight is 20:20. Timing they say is everything. Perhaps even more impactful would have been to have this Columbia Pictures release pencilled in for Halloween. No matter. This bonafide chiller will leave you gasping for air at Cineplex Odeon theatres still surviving across B.C.
Crime pays. Well sometimes. A trio of enterprising would be robbers have made a habit of robbing homes in the Detroit Michigan area. Meticulous research has gone into the group's success. Hours of study has led the gang's next target to a rundown house in what appears to be in the middle of nowhere . Better yet they are told the building belongs to a blind man. So what could be an easier score? Think again.
Tense beyond belief Don't Breathe is a no holds barred heart-pounding movie. Wall to wall and ceiling to basement and beyond mayhem is on tap in this monumental fight for survival.
Despite the cast being largely unfamiliar they are without question "primed" for the dangers that lurk behind those closed doors.
Superb writing and meaningful suspense make Don't Breathe one hell of an experience to partake in.
